I know about funnel marketing but want to know more regarding the use of B2B mail and how it can be used in funnel marketing.
Funnel is a marketing construct representing process of converting prospect to customer. Email marketing funnel does the same through email. So, creating b2b e-mail marketing funnel means to build a process that takes your leads/prospects through a process to convert into customers.
At the wide opening of the funnel lies largest number of prospects. You need to win trust and confidence of as many such prospects as possible – leading them to narrower part of the funnel. So, your initial set of emails should not be to sell, but to share, educate, help. Call this phase nurturing.
Next phase will be to convert at least a part of nurtured prospects into customer. Gently present your product emphasizing how its going to help your prospect. Remember, your prospects have come to you in the belief that your product or service can address their pain. So, your conversion mails should focus completely on how your product/service is going to help.
Once a prospect buys your product/service – he/she becomes your customer. However, conversion does not end the funnel – but a new phase starts RETAIN. A good product attracts many customers. But a great product attracts as also retains customers. So, in third phase of your funnel the emails will focus on retaining the customers through renewal or up selling. The process looks complex – but you can use marketing software to automate your mailing preference.
