Description :Dear Sir/Madam,
We are looking to buy the amino acid l-arginine tech grade.
I have enclosed a spec and I am looking for delivery to the UK.
Tentative specification (comparable to feed or technical grade):
Purity: 95 - 100 %
(it means that e.g. 95 % is OK, the rest can be allowed contaminates as below)
Appearance: Brownish powder accepted
Other amino acids: Less than 5%
Solubility: Similar to pure L-Arginine at pH 3-5
GMO status: Free from cell fragments and DNA
Source: Non-animal (mainly not from birds)
Specific rotation: TBD
Chloride: Not critical
Sulphate: Not critical
Iron: TBD
Heavy metals (Pb): 30 ppm max
Arsenic (As): 2 ppm max
Loss on drying: Not more than 1%
Residue on ignition: Not more than 0.3%
The client seems to be willing to discuss this even if it is from milk or
similar they were mainly afraid of poultry, like chicken etc. due to the avian
influenza and similar diseases from Asia.
