Just once, at the end of its 40 year life, a Bamboo shoot flowers a special variety of seeds which are known as Bamboo rice. Its an aromatic short grain rice. Posseses anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, anti-diabetic, antioxidant properties. Since bamboo rice is rich in calcium, bone health is maintained and pains related to joins, rheumatism, arthritis and backbone are controlled. Having a low GI value, it helps to control blood sugar.
