Definition:
Sodium hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid,
a glycosaminoglycan consisting of D-glucuronic acid and
N-acetyl-D-glucosamine disaccharide units
It contains not less than 95.0 per cent and not more than the equivalent of
105.0 per cent of sodium hyaluronate, calculated with reference to the
dried substance.
It has an intrinsic viscosity of not less than 90 per cent and not more than
120 per cent of the value stated on the label.
